SC Cribs: Designer Digs from Dix Hall

cribs2.jpgInterview with Lauren Hennessey & Emlyn Perry, Dix Hall

What is your favorite thing in your room?
My favorite part of the room is our magazine wall because we took the time to each pick out our favorite pictures that reflect our interests and styles.

If you had to describe your room in one work, what would it be?
Our room is "ours" because it's just a cluster of everything we love.

How do you best utilize the space that you have?
We utilize our space by having things on the wall. We put our coffee cups on Command strip hangers and Emlyn has a piece of fabric on the wall that she hangs all her earrings on.

How does your room reflect your personality?
We have maps and posters reflecting places we want to go, people we love, and also have drawings from our classes we did ourselves or our friends gave us.

Is your style affordable?
Our decorations were affordable because we used discarded magazines for the wall, cheap posters from Blick, and decorate with pictures and gifts from family and friends.

Any last tips for students trying to make their room comfortable and a home away from home?
Just decorate in a way that can cheer you up when you feel stressed and remind you of family & friends. Also, always hang up the presents family and friends give you, because those decorations mean the most.
