Meet Sarah Neill, Dean of Student Life

dean neill photo.pngHave you ever wondered what exactly makes Dean of Student Life Sarah Neill tick? I had the wonderful opportunity to ask Sarah some hard-hitting questions to really get to the bottom of what exactly makes her so incredibly fabulous.

Do you think aliens exist?
Yes, but only alien babies.

What's Emmett's favorite book?
In the Night Kitchen by Maurice Sendak

Do you prefer dogs, cats, or another animal?
Cats, of course.

What is one of your fondest memories from your time at Simmons?
I have many, far too many to count here. But Convocation Day 2010 really sticks out to me-it was my first convocation speech as Dean of Students and I feel like I really made a connection with the seniors and new first year students. I had arrived!

What staple should everyone have in their wardrobe?
A sweater vest, of course.

What was the last movie you saw in theaters?
The new Bourne movie. Loved it.

If someone wrote a movie about your life, who would you choose to play you?
Ellen DeGeneres in a dramatic role.

If you won $20 million in the lottery tomorrow, what would you do with it?
Make a very large gift to the Making Education Work Campaign, buy my mom a house and a car, and set aside a college fund for Emmett and his little brother who will be arriving in March. If I had any money left, I'd buy myself a mint green Vespa with a little side car. And some gum.

What's one of your goals for this school year?
Less time in meetings and behind my desk and more time with students!

And most importantly, what would be the first thing you did if a zombie apocalypse were to happen?
Get more Swedish Fish for my bunker.
