Leopard Boot Camp & rEFIt issues

Posted by Janice Canero-Conklin

Installing Leopard "cleanly" did not upgrade BootCamp to v2
Annoying. I would think that the installer would be "smart enough".
Boot Camp 1.2 was a beta that should have "timed out" (expired)
on the day that Leopaerd was released, but my laptop will still boot to Windows.

rEFIt is a 3rd party utility that interrupts the startup sequaence and allows the user to shoose what OS to startup to.

Installing rEFIt v.10 has caused a bit of instability. The Mac always boots, but
sometimes you see the rEFIt screen and sometimes you do not.

Its behavior also does not mimic what used to happen.

What used to be:
The mac would startup to O/S that it last started up to unless told to do otherwise.

My experience with the new refit and Leopard has been that the mac will always startup to the mac even though I booted to windows in the previous bootup.

I wonder if the behavior is related to the "timed out" Boot Camp v1.2.

This entry is also noted for further testing.
