Want to share an awesome apartment with an 1st year social work grad student?

Posted by Carrie Schultz

This is my very first blog post. Ever. I feel like I'm growing. :)

I have lived in my apartment in Davis Square for two years and love it. My two housemates are moving out - bound for other cities and scenes, so I have two, possibly three rooms available! Below is the ad that I posted on Craig's List. The only difference in the ad is that if all three rooms are filled, the rent goes down to $600...which would be AWESOME. Please contact me if you or someone you know is interested! Simmons email address is fine or my other one is carrie.schultz@gmail.com.

I hope I hear from you!

$800 2 Female Roommates Needed 9/1 to share huge apartment (Davis Square)

I am looking for two female roommates to share my 3.5 bedroom apt starting September 1. The apartment is on the second and third floor of a classic Somerville house located in the great neighborhood between Davis Square and Ball Square. 7 minute walk to Davis Square T, 12 minute walk to Porter Square shops and T.

There are two gorgeous and spacious rooms available with natural sunlight and closets. Both are located on the second floor of the apartment. One bedroom is slightly bigger than the other meaning that one could easily fit a queen-sized bed and the other would work better with a double.

The apartment has lots of character and I love living here. Not all white walls in the apartment. Layout goes a little something like this: 1st floor has good sized living room, dining room, kitchen with dishwasher, laundry in the unit, huge pantry, back AND front porch, guest room/study, half bath; 2nd floor has three bedrooms, storage room, and big full bathroom. We would have access to the backyard for grilling/chilling - we share it with the tenants below. Lots of on-street parking with permit and nearby non-permit street parking. Great neighborhood that is walking distance to grocery store, yummy restaurants, parks, etc. Honestly, I feel spoiled living here - such a great price for such a great space and location - that's why I don't want to give it up!

I never know exactly what to write in these snapshot paragraphs but here it goes: I am female, 27 years old, and starting my graduate degree in social work in the fall. I'm laid back and tidy. I like vegetables and NPR and reading and 30 Rock. I've done a fair amount of international traveling and had an assortment of different jobs. I anticipate that I will be very busy with school and work this year but am looking for a home to come back to. I value good conversation, honesty, hard laughter, a glass of wine at the end of a long day, running, cooking, and creativity.

I am looking for roommates that I can connect with but who are respectful of space when needed (grad students, young professionals especially). My current roommates and I have taken a lot of pride in the home we've built that is still conducive to autonomous living and I aim to maintain that. Want to have tidy common areas and kitchen but personal space is up to you. Would prefer non-smokers and no pets but am willing to negotiate. The apartment will be partially furnished, but have space for appliances and miscellaneous furniture if you want to bring it.

Please email ASAP if you are interested and think this might be a good fit for you and include a brief description about yourself. I imagine this place could go pretty quickly. Rent is $800 plus utilities (just gas heat and electric and internet - landlord covers hot water). More photos provided upon request.

Thanks for reading and best of luck on your housing search. Hope to hear from you soon!
