Secret Girlfriend

All right this is a bit different then my blog about oral surgery, but I had to take a quick time-out to express my dismay about a new show on comedy central. It’s called “Secret Girlfriend” and I am actually ashamed to admit I watched it. To tell you the truth it was one of those nights where I was doing my homework and casually letting the TV switch from show to show. Well the season premier of “Secret Girlfriend” turned on after South Park. I had seen commercials for this new show and it looked pretty pathetic, but I was curious. The commercials implied it was a show all about attractive women being dumbed down and objectified, but I was sure there had to be more to the plot than this. Well there wasn’t. It’s basically a show where the viewer IS the main (male) character of the show. Every feasible female hits on him while there are constant shots of women’s breasts and asses because that’s apparently all men look at! It’s an interesting idea to have the viewer feel like they are actually a part of the show; I’ll give them that, but its horrifying that this shit is being played on Comedy Central! I know Comedy Central is known for its explicit and shameless comedy *aka South Park where every race, gender, ethnicity are all made fun of *but this is all about excluding women viewers. Its one thing to make fun of all groups, but totally another to single out one group. Now don’t get me wrong, I love inappropriate, disdainful humor, but this rubbed me the wrong way. Check it out for yourself. Actually don’t even bother. Guaranteed waste of time.
