Creating a design portfolio is never easy since you're designing for yourself and an audience of other designers. And with a web portfolio (I am a coder as well), I feel like the code and scripts and everything have to be perfect - or as near as possible. I usually fluctuate between creating a bunch of designs in quick succession and leaving the same site up for a year or more, but I'm pretty happy with the new design.
Let me know what you think!

This looks like a lot of fun:
Silent rave in Toronto
I used to really like standing in front of the giant speakers at raves, but this is probably better for the surrounding neighborhoods and your ear drums.

How many emails do you have in your inbox today? And how many are unread? Probably quite a few on both counts. I've seen people who have 12,000 unread emails in their inbox (eh-hem, I won't mention names, eh-hem), and let's just say they aren't catching up. Now, I haven't actually done this (though it's been tempting lately), but I thought it was a pretty interesting concept:
email bankruptcy on WordSpy
Just send a mass BCC (note the blind!) message to all the people in your address book saying you're starting over and then just delete them all. Now if only they had this for voicemail...
Man, I hate the phone.

I don't really know much about the environment, though I try to do "green" things, like recycling and composting and walking instead of driving. But my sister, Marguerite McConihe, is an environmental lawyer and she helped start a blog about global warming and legal action, especially in the courts. It's pretty interesting stuff, even if you aren't involved in environmental law. Check it out:

(I was also pretty impressed that she got the blog up and running in two days with absolutely no previous web experience. Way to get the word out quickly!)
