Counseling Manager

Under the general supervision of the Director, Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Programs, the Counseling Manager will offer counseling services to clients and actively participate in long range planning and development of goals and objectives of the Violence Prevention and Intervention Programs.

  • Hire, train, supervise and evaluate personnel.
  • Maintain individual counseling client load of individuals and conduct group counseling
  • Provide direct supervision and leadership to staff.Develop and oversee volunteer protocols.
  • Ensure that client and program goals (clinical, professional development. community connections) are met in accordance with established program guidelines.
  • Increase access to services across the region, particularly Quincy and Plymouth.
  • Develop and oversee scheduling to include coverage at satellites and co-location sites, hotline, medical and legal accompaniment coverage for counseling staff and volunteers.
  • Conduct regular site visits to satellite and co-location sites. 
  • Ensure training, support, and use of evidence-based practices in the delivery of services.
  • Compile and submit statistical data, program reports, and billing information to funders.
  • Participate in staff meetings and supervision.
  • Provide medical advocacy coverage on a rotating basis.
  • Provide hotline support.
  • Work closely with other managers and Director to ensure coverage for all components of service through VIP, and to develop new programs and initiatives.
  • Reconciliation and approval of invoices, timesheets and other assigned administrative tasks. 
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Requirements/Qualifications 

Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW)
At least five years direct counseling experience with trauma survivors and/or vulnerable and diverse populations. At least three years of managerial experience in related field. Ability to maintain flexible schedule in accordance with program needs; i.e. evenings and/or emergency responses required. Superior understanding and experience working with trauma survivors and its affects within the dynamics of sexual violence and relationship violence. Demonstrated successes in individual and group counseling sessions with diverse clients and diverse client needs.Strong communication skills and the ability to facilitate small and large group meetings
