House Manager Position

Primary responsibilities are to provide after hours and weekend coverage in a residential program for women veterans at Women's Transitional Residence. The position responsibilities are to monitor the physical condition of the house, security of the house, daily activities of veterans, and to report unusual incidents to staff. Each House Manager (of which there are 3 for the program) is trained to implement Safety and Emergency Policies. The House Manager works 1-2 shifts per week and approximately every third weekend. 

In return for providing coverage for the house, House Managers live in the residence rent-free in a private, furnished room. The house is located on a residential street in the middle of Jamaica Plain, with easy access to the MBTA (Green St, Forrest Hills, 39 bus route). The house has a private kitchen and private office space for house managers, wood floors throughout, a back porch and garden space, free laundry in the basement, and all utilities included. There is also private off-street parking available. Position available 12/1/2015

Specific Duties: 
1. The House Managers serve as the persons in charge of the following hours: 
a. Monday Through Friday5:00pm-7:30am (you are able to sleep while on shift but may be awakened in an emergency) - Each house manager is on 1 or 2 nights per week.
b. Saturday and Sunday, 24 hours, including holidays - weekend and holiday shifts rotate among the three house managers. Each house manager takes 1 or 2 weekend shifts per month.
2. Responsible for enforcing program policies and notifying staff when residents are non-compliant 
3. Responsible for securing all outside exits and making sure all residents are safe and accounted for by their curfew.
4. Responsible for immediately reporting to staff any changes in a resident's behavior that might be indicative of medical, psychiatric, or behavioral problems 
5. Responsible for supervising residents in completing chores
