Community Engagement Case Manager

Founded in 1999, BUILD uses entrepreneurship-based, experiential learning to ignite the potential of youth in under-resourced communities and equip them for high school, college and career success. BUILD's unique program offers students a four year entrepreneurship experience designed to reinforce the Common Core, develop 21st Century Skills and motivate student engagement in school. Starting in 9th grade, BUILD students work with their peers and community mentors to develop business ideas, pitch to funders and launch real businesses. As they journey through high school, BUILD provides students with support in navigating the college application process and the opportunity to explore college and career options, while expanding their businesses or opting into community internships.

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Boston Program Director, the Community Engagement Case Manager (CECM) is responsible for driving the recruitment, training and retention of BUILD mentors and volunteers while building strategic partnerships with individuals, community partners and companies able to provide internships, academic support or other opportunities to BUILD students. BUILD volunteer roles include, but are not limited to: mentors who work with student business teams weekly, Venture Capitalist Advisors who guide students quarterly, academic tutors who support student success, and special event volunteers such as business plan showcase judges who work with students once or twice a year. 

In order to recruit volunteers and internship prospects, the CECM will lead the design and execution of a community partnership cultivation strategy, including the stewardship of mentoring organizations, universities, professional associations, and other community organizations. The CECM will also source in kind donations from community partners to support student attendance and engagement. This role will require a strong project manager with excellent customer service skills and ability to think strategically.

Status: Exempt, Regular Full-Time
Travel: Frequent travel between local sites is required
Additional evening and weekend hours required from time to time

 Master Degree in Social Work (MSW) or equivalent degree required. Macro focus a plus.
4+ years relevant work experience in education, sales, volunteer management, admissions, account management, civic engagement, recruiting, or youth development
Non-profit experience, knowledge of regional community and familiarity with Salesforce or other relational databases a plus
