Director, Crisis and Innovation Health Care Services

South Shore Mental Health has an exciting opening for the Director of Crisis and Innovation Services! This high level management position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Manager with a background in Crisis work to move to the next level of their career. Working under the general direction of the Vice President of Crisis and Rehabilitation Services, s/he is responsible for the overall operational functioning of both the Emergency Services Program, Community Crisis Services/Intensive Community Supports unit and the enhanced innovative care models programs. 

Responsibilities include maintaining positive relationships with DMH, MBHP, area hospitals and health center, and all potential referral sources, and attending appropriate meetings with DMH, MBHP and hospital partners. 

Based in Quincy, South Shore Mental Health's Emergency Services Program (ESP) provides in-home, community, and hospital ER-based services to children, teens, and adults who are at risk secondary to mental health symptoms. Available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, ESP's master's level clinicians provide psychiatric evaluation and treatment to support and stabilize clients while transitioning them to the appropriate level of care within the community. SSMH's Emergency Services Program also includes an open, six-bed stabilization unit that offers an alternative to hospitalization for clients in need of short-term crisis intervention. In addition, the department encompasses a number of demonstration projects and innovative initiatives in expanded emergency service care and population management.

Qualifications:

Masters degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or similar program
Position requires independent license in Massachusetts, such as LICSW, LMHC
5+ years of related experience in crisis work
Prior experience working with community based provider resources providing care to clients with complex mental health needs
Prior management or supervisory experience
