This is an exciting new role at Franciscan Children's that integrates clinical case management and supervision responsibilities!
Responsible for the clinical case management and family treatment to preschool, latency aged and adolescent children and families. Responsible for supervision of case management team and social work interns.
Provides case management and family counseling to assigned children. Coordinates case management for specific residents assigned to the caseload and provides family treatment on a weekly basis. Attends clinical and staff meetings and presents treatment and social work assessments at the child's clinical conference.
Documents all services provided according to policy to ensure compliance with appropriate licensing and mental health agencies. Observes, records, and reports critical information regarding patients/residents to Supervisor in an accurate and timely manner.
Manages admissions, intakes, and discharges of patients as delegated by the Program Director. Makes recommendations for future placements upon discharge and sets up follow-up services for each family.
Interacts with patients/residents in a therapeutic manner that facilitates adaptive coping and life skills through implementation of treatment plan goals and objectives. Demonstrates clinical expertise in working with emotionally disturbed children and adolescents; demonstrates competence in behavior management.
Applies Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) techniques to children and adolescents with behavior and psychiatric conditions to avoid "hands-on" encounters whenever possible. As a last resort restrains, or assists in restraining residents weighing up to 350 pounds when intervention is necessary to ensure safety.
Fulfills on-call administrator duties, with beeper coverage, as needed to ensure the continuity of coverage.
Acts as a resource to staff in an area of clinical expertise.
Provides input to Program Manager regarding staff performance and learning needs, as well as suggestions for areas of growth and training.
A Master's Degree in Social Work and independent licensure (LICSW) in Massachusetts is required. Three years of supervisory experience and five years of residential program experience is preferred.
