Program Manager- Congregate Shelter Programs

The Program Manager - Congregate Shelter Programs manages emergency family shelter programs with the overall responsibility for service delivery to homeless families and the ultimate objective of assisting families with achieving independent living.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manages the day-to-day operations of the programs insuring adequately staffed at all times. Maintains records and assures client confidentiality
• Assures the integrity of the facility and ensures standards for safety and sanitation are maintained. Makes certain that all local, state and federal codes are observed and that all operations comply with the applicable laws and donor requirements
• Supervises shelter staff and evaluates performance with guidance from the Director of Services
• Oversees the delivery of client services, makes assessments of program impact and recommends program/policy changes. Assists with grant requests
• Oversees the volunteer program and supervises activities of interns
• Participates in committee meetings of the Board of Directors as requested
• Prepares a variety of regular and special reports for the Executive Director and Director of Services
• Participates in fund raising programs as requested. Cultivates donors and funders within the local community
• Assists in the development and monitoring of program budget. Ensures compliance with agency's purchasing/procurement policies
• Adheres to all agency and program policies, procedures and rules
• Performs all other reasonable related duties as assigned by the Director of Services and/or Executive Director

Requirements:
• Experience: Three years' experience or equivalent experience in human services
• Education: Bachelor's Degree /Master's Degree, with major in Human Service or related field preferred
• Administrative and supervisory experience
• Excellent communication skills- written and oral; creative; able to work independently and in team; ability to handle crisis and public relations
• Must be able to occasionally ascend/descend stairs up to three or more sets, frequently move equipment weighing up to 15 lbs., must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
