Community Support Coordinator

The Town of North Andover, a full service municipality with 29,000 residents located in the Merrimack Valley seeks an energetic and qualified professional to be the Town's first Community Support Coordinator on a full-time basis (37.5 hours per week).

Essential Functions: The Coordinator will be responsible for developing new and innovative programs which will support community members, including businesses, in times of crisis. The Coordinator will also have a preventative and reactive role and work to connect individuals and families to the appropriate levels of care for wellness and prevention relating to mental health and addiction. The position holder will also be accessible for confidential drop-in consultations and friend and family member referrals. Reporting directly to the Town Manager, the position will be responsible for coordinating services across the Police & Fire Departments, Youth and Recreation Services, Health Department, School Department, Elder Services and regional partners. Responsible for making public presentations, preparing educational materials and serving as a liaison to certain public bodies and committees and community groups.
Qualifications: Must be knowledgeable in program development and implementation with particular emphasis on substance abuse or other related public health, mental health and safety initiatives. The successful candidate should have 3-5 years of experience in a related field and possess an MPH or similar degree. LSW designation is preferable.

Salary: Low $70's
