Interim Intake Specialist

YMCA Training, Inc. seeks a temporary full-time Intake Specialist to support enrollment for its next session of training. The position is for July and August and has the potential to become permanent.

YMCA Training, Inc. is a highly successful, social services agency. This 30-year non-profit job skills training and employment program helps low-income, unemployed, and underemployed adults gain skills and move into skilled administrative support positions across multiple industries.
Location: YMCA Training, Inc., 18 Tremont Street, Boston, MA
Responsibilities: The Intake Coordinator is responsible for the assessment, and enrollment of participants into Training, Inc. training program.

• Host information sessions for potential applicants twice/week.
• Provide careful and timely assessment of each candidate to determine eligibility for the Training, Inc. program.
• Interview candidates.
• Guide candidates through the funding process.
• Maintain excellent data and confidential recordkeeping system of applicants and funding sources. Requirements:
• A passion for supporting people to prepare for their next career
• Bachelors' degree highly preferred
• Minimum one year of social service experience or equivalent.
• Case Management and Counseling skills highly preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to respectfully interact with a wide variety of people.
• Highly organized and detail oriented.
