Social Worker (LICSW)

The Town of Bedford is searching for an energetic and engaged Social Worker to perform social service and administrative work for the Town's senior citizens. The Social Worker will provide support, behavioral health and case management services, assess senior's needs, provide age-related information and make referrals as necessary for the Council on Aging. This position reports directly to
the Council on Aging Director. Primary duties include, but are not limited to: liaison to local and community elder service providers for elders and their families, assisting Town residents at risk. Identify and organize community outreach initiatives. In addition, the Social Worker helps plan, arrange and promote services and programs through the Town Website and other means.

The successful candidate will possess exceptional attention to detail, excellent communication skills, ability to work with confidential information, and experience with personal computers including working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word, websites and experience with database management. Candidate must be a team player, highly organized, self-motivated, and possess excellent judgment and customer service skills.

Previous education and/or experience in a municipal setting a plus. Working knowledge of Metro West social service network and age-related issues required. Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker status required with 2 years' experience preferred. Licensed Clinical Social Worker may be considered with applicable experience. Certificate in First Aid, CPR, and defibrillator preferred but not required at time of hire. Previous experience supervising social work interns is preferred.

The Salary range for this position is $61,734.77 to $81,793.77. The hours for this 40 hour/week position are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Attendance at occasional evening and Saturday programs is required. The Town of Bedford offers a comprehensive benefits package.
