Licensed Social Worker - Early Education Program

JPNDC seeks a Licensed Social Worker to provide case management services to families enrolled in our early education program and connect them to resources to promote children's and families' well-being. Working under the direction of the Director of Family Child Care services, the Licensed Social Worker will provide support and case management services to families and collaborate with early educators in our network of licensed home-based programs. The Social Worker will also coordinate with external agencies including DCF, DTA, local health centers, and homeless shelters, to ensure that families' access needed resources. Clinical supervision will be provided via contract with a licensed independent clinical social worker. 

Duties

• Assess, evaluate, conduct initial and ongoing case management of children and family service needs; develop and ensure implementation of strength based service plans for families.

• Build trusting relationships with families and maintain open communication; provide supportive counseling to parents and advocate for family's needs with other service agencies.

• Conduct on-site visits to early education programs to provide consultation on assessment, behavioral issues, parent relations, or other issues.

• In conjunction with the Director, 1) manage all referrals of children to Early Intervention services, coordinating with educators caring for children and providing support to parents to access services, and 2) manage in-house referrals to JPNDC economic prosperity services for all families at intake.

• Build and maintain collaborative working relationships with JPNDC's Economic Prosperity team; maintain ongoing communication to ensure coordination of services for families.

• Develop and coordinate parent education workshops and family engagement activities.

• Manage internal case review process; attend/participate in supervision, staff meetings, and training and team meetings.

• Maintain high degree of professionalism with all stakeholders including, client families, early education providers, schools, referring agencies, and community and state agencies, etc.

 Qualifications

• Bilingual English/Spanish REQUIRED.

• Bachelor's degree required in social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, educational counseling or relevant human service degree REQUIRED.

• Current or valid licensure as a Licensed Social Work Associate or Licensed Social Worker issued by the MA Board of Registration Required (Note: Education, licenses and certifications will be verified; applicants working towards a social work license may be considered if license can be obtained within 9 months of hiring.

• 2 years social work experience in community setting preferred.

• Early education experiences a plus.

• Exceptional interpersonal, decision-making, problem solving and crisis management skills.

• Team player and self-starter with excellent problem solving skills.

• Excellent organizational, communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Internet; experience using client database programs.

• Able to adapt in dynamic environments, to work under pressure and to multi-task.

• Valid Driver's License REQUIRED.
