POSITION STATUS: Temporary Research Position (Available Summer 2019)

B'nai B'rith Housing in the Greater Boston area is seeking a temporary Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) during the summer of 2019 to assist with a new survey project to better understand satisfaction and quality of life of the residents they serve. B'nai B'rith is a non-profit affordable housing provider that serves low-income older adults through a service-enriched housing model.
Job locations: Coolidge at Sudbury (Sudbury, MA) and Covenant House (Brighton, MA)
Hours: 30 hours per week (estimated)
Start Date: Tentatively set for June 1, 2019
Length of position: 1-month position; variable schedule based on resident schedules

Job Description: Graduate research assistants working with the B'nai B'rith housing staff will be involved
with the following: - Assisting B'nai B'rith housing staff with the initial distribution of the surveys to residents in both communities;
-Assisting with tracking survey responses; - facilitating opportunities for residents to fill out the survey in a group setting so that they can have any questions answered;
- facilitating opportunities for one-on-one verbal survey completion based on a target number determined by housing staff;
-Additional outreach as needed to assure that the survey response rate is as high as possible; -Participation in an initial hour-long virtual training session will be required.
The ideal candidate will possess:
-experience working with ethnically, culturally, and economically diverse populations -strong written and verbal communication skills; organizational skills; and interpersonal skills -clinical interviewing experience preferred but not required -ability to work independently and as an effective part of a team made up of affordable housing staff, researchers, and residents
-Masters-level student in social work or related field -Evidence of satisfactory achievement in previous academic work
