I don't really know much about the environment, though I try to do "green" things, like recycling and composting and walking instead of driving. But my sister, Marguerite McConihe, is an environmental lawyer and she helped start a blog about global warming and legal action, especially in the courts. It's pretty interesting stuff, even if you aren't involved in environmental law. Check it out:

(I was also pretty impressed that she got the blog up and running in two days with absolutely no previous web experience. Way to get the word out quickly!)

I learned in my nutrition class that up until recently women who were caught breastfeeding in public could be charged with indecent exposure and if convicted have to register as a sex offender. Luckily, the laws were changed this past week to allow women to breastfeed in public.
I thought it would be interesting to see what other laws in Massachusetts are in the books that are considered dumb laws.
Here are a few examples from www.dumblaws.com that are on the Massachusetts law books.
At a wake, mourners may eat no more than three sandwiches.
Snoring is prohibited unless all bedroom windows are closed and securely locked.
Taxi drivers are prohibited from making love in the front seat of their taxi during their shifts.
All men must carry a rifle to church on Sunday.
Hunting on Sundays is prohibited.
It is illegal to go to bed without first having a full bath.
Quakers and witches are banned.
