plaid skirt, white socks, mary janes

Posted by Elizabeth Dunn

Foundations of Business starts tomorrow, it is past midnight, I need to leave at 6:00 am to make it to class by 8:00 am (stopping for coffee and gas along the way, and making time for the unexpected).

Am I the least bit tired? OF COURSE NOT.

I finished working on my homework -- the McCaskey case -- last night, reviewed it during lunch at work today, and printed it out with a shrug (what do I know how good it is? It's my first case!).

Tonight I've been reviewing and memorizing my route, even though I know it by heart after all the trips I made to 409 Commonwealth Avenue in the spring while I was applying. I also needed to figure out where my parking garage was, so I don't have to go spiraling around early morning streets of Boston in a panic, trying to find parking. It'll be expensive, but I don't have the patience for the T just yet, and I can't be feeding a meter every 2 hours during orientation.

The evolution of Sephora.com

Posted by Brittany Stone

As a frequent Sephora customer, I have seen its website change from your average, run of the mill retail website to something more user-friendly. Here are some things that make the visit to Sephora.com just a little more worthwhile.

-User reviews: Peer reviews are what a lot of people rely on to make their cosmetic selections, especially online. Just look at the popularity of makeup blogs. Sephora recognized this and added customer reviews. So now you don't have to search to see if what you're buying is any good.

-Blog: Its sole purpose isn't just advertising new Sephora products. With news, facts, and advice, it's actually something worth perusing.

-Free stuff: Free returns, free samples, and little presents on your birthday (if you sign up for Beauty Insider).

New York Weekend

Posted by Elizabeth Davies

This weekend, as a late birthday present, my aunt took me to NYC to see Billy Elliot on Broadway. I absolutely love New York, so this was an amazing trip! The atmosphere is so much fun, everything stays open all night, and the sights are incredible. I’ll keep this blog to the night life, considering the fact that you probably don’t want to hear about my adventures to the statue of liberty…

We left at 6am on Saturday, and did tons of touristy things when we got there. At around 7pm we went to dinner, which is really early in NYC so we had no problem getting a table. The food was good, but food there is twice as expensive as it is here, I couldn’t get over it! If I ever decide to live there I’m going to have to start saving now and living off ramen noodles. The drinks in NYC were really great though, and it was nice to just be able to go to a bar and order something with my aunt. I felt so grown up! It’s so dorky, but I was so excited.

After we went to Billy Elliot (which ... more »
