Last week in the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, a female member won with a big number of votes to be the only member on the board of directors. Lama Al Sulaiman, was she. After hearing this news I decided to write this week about Saudi Arabia and some examples of successful Saudi women.
Saudi Arabia is the leading country in exporting oil. It is also one of the biggest countries in the Arabian Peninsula. Saudi Arabia, is the Land of the two Holy Mosques, the holiest places in Islam. As a Saudi woman, I’ll be honest enough to say it is sad how many people think of us as suppressed women with no rights. The veil that some women wear doesn’t not in any means lower from their capabilities and skills. Saudi women do get educated and work in all most all working sectors. Women do have the right to choose their futur ... more »
