YOUR UP-TO-DATE LISTING OF SOCIAL WORK JOBS AND FELLOWSHIPS

Social Worker MSWII

Children's Hospital Neighborhood Partnerships (CHNP) is the community behavioral health program in the Department of Psychiatry at Boston Children's Hospital. The CHNP School-Based Program includes partnerships with 7 schools in Boston's urban core, including elementary, K-8, middle, and high schools. Social workers and psychologists from Children's Hospital work onsite in schools where they provide comprehensive mental health services including clinical intervention, early identification, and prevention and promotion services to students, families, and school staff.

CHNP will leverage its successful school-based approach and its collaboration with Boston Public School (BPS) to create and implement a new phase of development, the Training Access Project (CHNP-TAP). TAP offers two main components: 1) a learning collaborative providing professional development and training for five schools, and 2) individualized consultation services for each school. CHNP is hiring a 40-hour/full time licensed (LICSW) MSWII social worker to be a consultant in the program. TAP will offer high quality professional development and consultation services to help schools better address students' social, emotional, and behavioral health needs in elementary and K-8 schools in urban Boston. The project will not provide direct clinical services to youth or families, but rather put tools and information in the hands of the educators. The innovative model will be piloted in 5 schools, eventually scaling up to 25 in BPS over the next five years. The social worker will help develop, implement, and facilitate trainings, as well as provide on-site consultation services to staff in BPS schools.

Given the mission of CHNP-TAP, successful applicants will have an LICSW and a minimum of five years experience working in schools, preferable K-5/K-8 schools. They will also have experience working in diverse, urban settings. The candidate must have experience providing consultation services about behavioral health to school staff and school administrators in addition to previous experience providing clinical services in schools. The position requires a social worker who has a strong record of providing professional development in school or community settings.
